- 1910 – Indian journalist Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai is arrested after publishing criticism of the government of Travancore and is exiled.
- 2019 - Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath laid the foundation stone of the Bhopal Metro project. The first run of the Bhopal Metro is expected to start by 2023. Kamal Nath said, the metro service in Bhopal would have two sections and would be called the Bhoj-Metro after Parmar King Raja Bhoj.
- 2019 - Speaker Om Birla has nominated Shashi Tharoor as a member of the Parliamentary standing committee on external affairs, which the Congress MP had chaired in the previous Lok Sabha.
- 2019 - Olympic medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and former Indian Hockey captain Sandeep Singh joined BJP.
