The Year 2022

  • Hyderabad bagged the prestigious 'World Green City Award 2022' beating Paris, Bogota, Mexico City, Montreal, and Fortaleza in Brazil. Additionally, the city also won 'Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth' at the International Association of Horticulture Producers (AIPH) 2022 held in Jeju, South Korea. Hyderabad is the only Indian city that was selected for the 'World Green City 2022,' award, the best across all six categories.

  • Bangalore's Kempegowda Airport became the first Airport in South India to receive World's largest Boeing Aircraft (Emirate's Airbus A380) on October 14, 2022. Airbus A380 started operating between Dubai-Mumbai in 2014, Bangalore becomes the 2nd Airport in the country to operate this Superjumbo Aircraft which has a carrying capacity of 480 passengers. The Flight will operate as EK568 & EK569 daily between Bangalore-Dubai starting October 30, 2022. The daily flight is scheduled to ferry from Dubai at 21:25 hrs and reach Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport(KIA) at 02:30 hrs the next day (local time). While the return flight will depart from KIA at 04:30 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 07:10 hrs (local time).
