Pranati Nayak (born 6 April 1995) is an Indian artistic gymnast hails from Medinipur, West Bengal. She earned a bronze medal on vault at the 2019 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Pranati Nayak is being trained by Minara Begum for the last 18 years. Pranati Nayak was Eight years old when Minara Begum started to train her, Minara Begum also took her complete responsibilities for her education and living expenses in Kolkata since her parents were unable to afford it. Pranati's father retired as a bus driver in 2017.
Pranati Nayak is the only Indian gymnast to have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. The 26-year old became only the second woman gymnast from India to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games. She secured a spot in the Olympics, after claiming a Bronze Medal at the 2019 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Vault, 2019 at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. In 2019, she became eligible to compete in the World Championships in Stuttgart where she secured the Olympic spot in the four apparatus of the All-Around competition. Pranati Nayak earned a continental quota spot to the 2020 Summer Olympics alongside Sri Lanka’s Milka Gehani after the cancellation of the 2021 Asian Championships. After qualifying through the continental quota, Nayak is all set to make her Olympic debut.
