Born in 1630 at the Shivneri Fort, Shivaji defied the odds from his very beginnings. Thrusted into a volatile era marked by Mughal dominance, he dreamt of establishing an independent Maratha kingdom, 'Hindavi Swarajya'. He carved his name in history with unwavering courage and strategic brilliance, establishing the Maratha Empire as a formidable force.

Shivaji's military prowess was unparalleled. Utilizing guerilla tactics and innovative warfare strategies, he outsmarted and challenged the mighty Mughal Empire. His conquests of forts like Torna and Raigad became symbols of resistance, igniting the flame of self-rule in the hearts of his people. He established a strong naval force, recognizing its crucial role in trade and defence.

But Shivaji's greatness transcended the battlefield. He was a compassionate ruler, known for his just administration and respect for all religions. He implemented innovative policies, fostered trade, and prioritized the welfare of his subjects. His emphasis on 'Swarajya' wasn't just about political freedom, social justice and self-governance.
