tongue twisters

In order to be proficient at tongue twisters you must make a conscious effort to pronounce each word properly. This forces you to make mental notes of your problem areas, and correct them with practice.
Using tongue twisters to warm up for singing can help, by preparing your mind to control the starts and stops of good enunciation. It forces you to pay attention to what is coming out of your mouth, and to correct it when it is wrong.
This is a tried and true technique, and many vocal students have benefited from selling sea shells by the shores.
