Updated 12th July'13: Legendary Bollywood actor Pran Krishan Sikand passes away on 12th July 2013 9PM, at Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai.

Actor +Pran Krishan Sikand Pran or popularly known as Pran of Bollywood is on news after a long time because of his winning of "Dada Saheb Phalke award" as lifetime Achievement award this year 2013.
Pran Krishan Sikand who is 93 now was born on 12th Feb 1920 in Delhi, India. He is known for his all shades of the role, but got popularity for his villainous roles. He did lead roles as an actor from 1940 to 1947, then he did many supporting roles from the year 1948 to 2007 and from the year 1942 to 1991 he did many negative roles.
Pran Saheb was also awarded the Villain of the Millennium award in the year 2000 by Stardust.
He has also been honoured by CNN as the top 25 Asian actors of all time.
Pran has also received many Filmfare awards, Pran had won Filmfare Best supporting actor award in the year 1967, 1969 and 1972 and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1997.
Pran Saheb has also won the Padma Bhushan award by the govt. Of India for his contribution to Indian Cinema.
Pran Saheb married Arvind Ahluwalia in the year 1945 and he has two sons Arvind and Sunil and one daughter Pinky with her.

Pran Saheb acted in over 400 movies in his career spanning 6 decades in the industry in a vast range of roles. Pran saheb got popular for his villainous roles in the films like Madhumati, Ziddi, Ram Aur Shyam and many more. Pran Saheb's character role as a rough but kind Pathan friend to the lead actor Amitabh Bachchan in Zajeer also got huge appreciation.

Pran Saheb and Ashok Kumar were best friends of their time and they acted in 27 films and out of which 20 films did very well in the market from the year 1951 to 1987.

Pran Saheb was also one time one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood. He used to get paid only second to Rajesh Khanna from 1969 to 1982. Rajesh Khana used to be paid around 20 to 70 lacs and Pran used to receive 5 to 20 lacs according to his roles. It is said that Producers used to refrain both actors simultaneously on a single screen for heavy budgeting.

Pran was paid even higher than Amitabh Bacchan in their films and they did 14 films together out of which in the first 6 films Pran had been paid more than Amitabh Bachchan.
